What is included in the Budapest Card?
The Budapest Card is the cityâs official travel pass. It includes unlimited public transportation, free entry to 30+ museums (including the Hungarian National Gallery), free admission to the LukĂĄcs Thermal Bath, two guided walking tours, and discounts ranging from 10% to 50% on attractions, restaurants, and river cruises.
Is public transport free with the Budapest Card?
Yes. All versions of the Budapest Card provide 100% free, unlimited travel on Budapestâs public transport network within the city boundaries. This includes the metro, trams, buses, trolleybuses, and suburban railways (HĂV). You simply carry the card with you; there is no need to purchase separate tickets or validate them at machines.
Does the Budapest Card include airport transfer?
The standard Budapest Card covers the 200E bus from the airport to the city, but not the 100E Airport Express shuttle. However, the Budapest Card 72h Plus version includes a free door-to-door airport transfer (via MiniBUD) and a free ride on the Buda Castle Funicular.
Which thermal baths are free with the card?
The St. Lukåcs Thermal Bath is completely free for all Budapest Card holders. For other world-famous baths like Széchenyi or Gellért, the card provides a 20% discount on the entry fee. To access the free entry at Lukåcs, simply present your valid card at the ticket desk.
How do I activate my Budapest Card?
Activation happens the first time you use it. You must write the month, day, and hour of activation on the back of the card. The card is then valid for the specific duration (24h, 48h, 72h, 96h, or 120h) from that exact moment.
